County Waterford, Ireland
Nestled in the rolling hills of Ireland's Ancient East, Moravexi crafts distinctive wines that capture the essence of our unique terroir and maritime climate.
Our Vineyard
Moravexi was born from a deep conviction that Ireland's maritime climate, with its long summer daylight hours and mineral-rich soils, could produce wines of genuine character and complexity. Our 12-hectare estate sits along the sun-kissed slopes of County Waterford, where the Suir Valley's mild microclimate provides ideal conditions for cool-climate grape varieties.
We cultivate a carefully selected range of grape varieties suited to our terroir, including Solaris, Rondo, and Regent. Each vine is tended by hand, reflecting our commitment to sustainable viticulture and respect for the land. Our winemaker, trained in both Burgundy and the Mosel, brings an international perspective to distinctly Irish fruit, resulting in wines that are fresh, aromatic, and full of personality.
From pruning in early spring to harvest in late autumn, every step of our process is guided by patience and precision. We believe that great wine tells the story of its place, and every bottle of Moravexi speaks of Ireland's green hills, Atlantic breezes, and the warmth of its people.

Our Collection
Each wine in our collection reflects the unique character of our Irish terroir. From crisp whites to structured reds, discover flavours shaped by Atlantic winds and ancient soils.
White
Vintage 2024
A bright and aromatic white with notes of elderflower, green apple, and a hint of citrus zest. The cool maritime influence gives this wine a refreshing acidity that pairs beautifully with fresh seafood from Dunmore East.
Red
Vintage 2023
A medium-bodied red with a deep ruby hue and inviting aromas of blackberry, cherry, and a subtle smokiness from twelve months in Irish oak. Silky tannins and a long, warming finish make this a wine for contemplation.
Rosé
Vintage 2024
Pale salmon in colour with delicate aromas of wild strawberry, rose petal, and white peach. Pressed gently from Regent grapes, this dry rosé carries a mineral backbone that reflects our coastal proximity and chalky subsoils.
"Wine is sunlight, held together by water."

Our Journey
The story of Moravexi began in 2015 when siblings Eoin and Siobhán Callanan purchased a neglected 12-hectare farm in the Suir Valley. Both had spent years working in European wine regions — Eoin in Alsace and Siobhán in the Douro Valley — and they shared a belief that Ireland's changing climate presented a genuine opportunity for viticulture. The first vines went into the ground in spring of 2016, planted with a mix of hope and healthy scepticism.
Early years were challenging. Irish weather tested every assumption, and the Callanans learned hard lessons about frost protection, canopy management, and patience. By 2019, the first commercial vintage yielded just 800 bottles, but the quality surprised even their most critical mentors. Word spread among Irish food and drink enthusiasts. Local restaurants in Waterford and Cork began featuring Moravexi on their wine lists, and the siblings realised they had created something meaningful.
Today, Moravexi produces over 8,000 bottles annually across six distinct wines. Our estate has become a destination for visitors exploring Ireland's Ancient East, and we take pride in offering experiences that connect people to the land. We are experimenting with new grape varieties, exploring sparkling wine production, and working with neighbouring farms to establish a wider Irish wine region. The journey is still young, and every vintage teaches us something new about what these ancient Irish soils can achieve.
What People Say
"We visited Moravexi during our trip through County Waterford and it was the highlight of our holiday. The Solaris white was a revelation — I had no idea Ireland could produce wine this good. The vineyard tour was informative without being stuffy, and the cheese pairing was spot on."

Food Writer, Dublin
"As a sommelier, I approached Irish wine with curiosity but low expectations. The Comeragh Rondo Reserve genuinely impressed me. Balanced tannins, lovely fruit expression, and a sense of place that many established wine regions struggle to achieve. I now list it in our restaurant."
Patrick O.
Sommelier, Cork
"My partner and I did the Winemaker's Table dinner for our anniversary. The setting in the barrel room was intimate and magical, and Siobhán's explanations about each wine added real depth to the evening. The food and wine pairings were thoughtfully composed and the local ingredients shone through."
